About me
Born a North Dakota farm girl, I have a get-it-done work ethic and sense of practicality. That said, I also embrace a fun loving, big idea dreaming, and creative pursuit-filled life. My husband of 31 years, Tom, and I grew up together and have two daughters, Hope & Megan and a extremely spoiled golden doodle, who are off on their own adventures. We are using our “empty nest” time to reconnect and chase our passions.
My Strengths
One of the tools I have used in helping to better understand and engage employees and students is the Gallup Clifton StrengthsFinder. They give you a bit more insight into how I am wired. My strengths are:
Maximizer
People who are especially talented in the Maximizer theme focus on strengths as a way to stimulate personal and group excellence. They seek to transform something strong into something superb.
Strategic
People who are especially talented in the Strategic theme create alternative ways to proceed. Faced with any given scenario, they can quickly spot the relevant patterns and issues.
Ideation
People who are especially talented in the Ideation theme are fascinated by ideas. They are able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena.
Connectedness
People who are especially talented in the Connectedness theme have faith in the links between all things. They believe there are few coincidences and that almost every event has a reason.
Woo
People who are especially talented in the Woo theme love the challenge of meeting new people and winning them over. They derive satisfaction from breaking the ice and making a connection with another person.

30
years working in the Marketing & Communications industry
That’s some serious experience and I have loved every minute of it! A passion for new technology, systems and operations has me learning every day.
That passion for learning was sparked long ago at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN graduating as a double major in Business Administration and Communications with an emphasis in Advertising. My love of design was also fostered there, working 3 years as a student employee in the Communications and Marketing department. I returned years later to serve as the Graphics Director.
8
jobs in a variety of industries and leadership roles
That might seem like a lot of job jumping, but I have been blessed to be recruited for each of those positions by clients that I had provided exceptional customer service to over the years.
A career that has included prepress, printing, photofinishing, advertising agency, news media, higher education and nonprofit sector work has provided me with a wide range of experiences.
17+
years operating my own consulting and Design business
Being my own boss has given me the freedom to explore my passions, provide a wider breadth of services and leverage a broad skillset to help entrepreneurial companies grow. My business continues to evolve, starting initially with more design production and moving toward more consulting and strategy.
